FFStatistics Staff NFL Picks: Week 5

Every week our staff members will make their picks and we will crown a winner based on the best record at the end of the season. Why are we doing this? Why not. Making picks are fun and we like things to brag about and interact with our readers.

These picks will be straight up picks. No line, just who we think is going to be the winner.

Staff Chalk Picks

Every single staff member agreed on the following games:

Patriots defeat Colts

Well, this game already happened. But, the picks were in ahead of time. Either way. You know what happened. Everyone is 1-0 this week.

Titans defeat Bills

Not a surprise. The solid Tennesee defense should give rookie QB Josh Allen all he can handle.

Bengals defeat Miami

Giovani Bernard is going to be out for a couple weeks, but he is replaced by the returning Joe Mixon. Not the exchange Miami was hoping for. Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins offense have been anemic this season and it is hard to put a lot of faith in them. Still, this game should be closer than a clean sweep would indicate.

Chargers defeat Oakland

Let’s see which Amari Cooper shows up to this one. This game could actually be a decent one if the Raiders from last week show up. It seems no one at FFStatistics is confident that will be enough to defeat Rivers and company.

Rams defeat Seahawks

Yeah, Seattle is at home, and they do well at home. However, the Rams offense looks unstoppable and it’s hard to imagine the Seahawks defense (which is a shell of its former self) putting up much of a fight.

Texans defeat Cowboys

The battle of Texas between two below average teams. DeShaun Watson has looked better of late, but ill be without Lamar Miller (if that matters). Still, it’s tough to see the Cowboys doing enough to hang around in this one with their one-dimensional offense.

Staff Upset Picks

  • @FFZinger: Giants defeat Panthers – This is not really a big upset, but he is the only staff member to go this direction. Let’s see if “capable Eli” shows up, instead of the standard “garbage Eli”.
  • @JesseReevesFF: Redskins defeat Saints – Jesse picked the Giants to upset the Saints last week. Maybe he just hates New Orleans? I better ask him…..
